MMU's responsibility stops at the demarcation point which is the fiber converter. MMU is responsible for service only to the exit port of the media converter. Customer will need to provide a router. Low end routers may be puchased from MMU (no returns) or various local and online retailers.
Each customer's connection will be limited to the listed speed. Actual speed will vary. Email is available through various free web mail clients such as hotmail and gmail.
Normal setup fees are $25.
MMU will charge an additional $30 per month for a two year period for service outside MMU's normal electric service areas to help offset construction costs of buried fiber. Customers in those areas that are not already active as of March 1, 2021, are not eligible for after hours maintenance at this time.
Limited on-site maintenance will be provided until 10:00 p.m. for most customers or 24 hour support for businesses that are open 24 hours. Service call issues are limited to MMU's fiber lines and equipment (not customer's equipment). These maintenance services may be limited in situatons when safety issues are involved (such as access to other property in the dark). Some issues may not be immediately resolvable. MMU personnel should not be expected to enter a residence after hours. Call in support is available 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, except holidays.
MMU reserves the right to limit service to areas based solely on MMU's evaluation.
