Secondary Basins

From the primary basins, the water goes to one of our three secondary basins. Basin 1 is from the original plant construction in 1945. Basin 2 is from the mid-60's expansion. Basin 3 was added in 1977. All three basins are drained and cleaned twice yearly. At the secondary basins, CO₂ can be added for pH adjustment, and chlorine is added to disinfect and to protect against contamination in the distribution system.
